The church was designed by Sir Albert Richardson K.C.V.O., F.R.I.B.A., F.S.A. who was a leading architect, teacher and writer during the first half of the 20th century. He was Professor of Architecture at University College London, and a President of the Royal Academy. The interior recalls the hull of an upturned boat and the east end is dominated by a magnificent tapestry of Christ in Glory, worked in applique by David Holt.
